WELCOME TO THE SEASONAL FLOW BLOG
Nurturing Seasonal Harmony In Your Yoga Practice and Daily Life
At The Yoga Space, we honor both movement and stillness, effort and ease — cultivating a practice that supports not just the body, but the mind, heart, and spirit.
A LETTER TO MY COMMUNITY.
What is Yoga?
If you ask 10 people,
you may hear
ten different answers.
Some will say it is movement. Others say breath, mediation, philosophy, strength, flexibility or simple a space to slow down.
To me, one meaning continues to stand out LIBERATION.
Try something. Say these word out loud. Then pause. Just notice. What do these words bring up for you. Do you believe them?
When I say those words, something in me reacts a little. Part of me believes them. Another part quietly questions them. I have become intrigued by the response because it reminds me that there is more to notice.
I have the freedom to be happy and at peace if I choose.

Most of us first come to yoga through the body. We want to move, become stronger, improve balance, or simple feel better. Those are beautiful reasons to practice, and they are a part of why I continue to love yoga. The physical practice has a way of reminding us that we are capable of more than we once believed.
Over time, I have found myself becoming just as curious about what is happening beneath the movement.
Am I fully present? Am I fully living my truth? How often I experience this moment instead of replaying yesterday or planning tomorrow? For me, this is where yoga begins to feel like liberation. Not because it gives me all the answers, but because it invites me to become aware. It encourages me to notice my thoughts, my habits, my reactions, and the stories I tell myself before trying to change any of them.
I wonder if awareness is where freedom begins?
After all it is difficult to change a pattern we don’t notice or choose to address. Maybe this is why the practice is called practice. We return to the breath. We return to the body. We return to this moment. Some days can feel completely present. Other days our minds wander a thousand times. Both are part of our human experience.
I don’t know exactly what liberation means for you. I am still discovering and feeling it out. Perhaps that is one of the gifts of yoga. It does not ask us to believe someone else’s truth. It simply offers a space to become curious, to pay attention and to discover what is truth in our own experience.

Whether you already practice with us at The Yoga Space or are simply curious about beginning your yoga journey, we would love for you to join us as we move into a new season together and explore what it might be inviting us to notice.
Summer often carries an energy of movement. We spend our days creating, working, traveling, connecting, and growing. As we begin to transition into fall, I think it offers us a chance to slow down for a moment and notice what this season has produced.
What have you been tending to and growing this summer?
From the moment you wake up and notice your heartbeat and breath, to the way you nourish your body, your mind, and your spirit each day, what do your daily choices reveal about what you value? There is no right or wrong answer here. Just an invitation to become aware.
Before we gather the harvest and step into a new season, it can be helpful to reflect on the seeds we have been planting. In yoga, the Yamas and Niyamas offer a beautiful place to begin. I think of them as guidelines. They invite us to explore qualities like compassion, honesty, contentment, and self awareness, while giving us space to discover what those ideas mean in our own lives.
Over the next few months, we will explore a different theme each month inspired by the changing seasons, Ayurveda, yoga philosophy, and a few ideas that have stayed with me while diving into Atomic Habits by James Clear. One of the ideas I appreciate most is that meaningful change often grows from the small things we practice consistently. To me, that feels deeply connected to yoga. We do not become someone new overnight. We simply return to the practice, one breath, one choice, and one day at a time.
